Giclee (zgee-klay) is a word derived from the French for a spray or a spurt of liquid. In the art world, the term refers to a reproduction of fine art, done through an elevated printmaking technology, generated from high resolution digital scans. Gicless ensure archival quality inks and are transferred to various substrates, most often paper, watercolor paper, when reproducing watercolors.
Giclee prints are done in limited editions, are signed and numbered by the artist, and are sold with certificates of authenticity.
Giclees are available for many of Pam Tallman's originals.
